Youth America Grand Prix

  • Every year, select students are given the opportunity to participate in the Youth America Grand Prix. This prestigious, world-wide event is the only student ballet competition in America that awards scholarships to leading dance schools in the U.S. and abroad.

  • The regional Southern California preliminary event gives our performers exposure to world-renowned dance professionals as well as workshops with master teachers and judges of the competition. Winners of the various classes will then be invited to New York City for the national finals.

  • YAGP's reputation as a showcase for dancers is such that qualifying to dance at the New York City Finals gives a participant an important distinction and a boost to their professional dance career.

    Why Compete?
  • Competitions offer students the immediate and concrete goal of preparing a variation to perform before a panel of judges. We feel it is a great incentive to growth. At competition, students have the opportunity to see their peers from other schools and get a feeling for the level of accomplishment in the world outside their own studio.
