Class Information and Registration
- Ballet is an art form that teaches a child discipline, co-ordination, strength and control.
- These qualities will give your child a head start in life whatever they decide to do in the future.
- We hope to foster a life long appreciation of dance, music and movement.
- Students develop self-confidence and a physical awareness while gaining strength through the discipline of movement.
Creative Movement and Pre Ballet 1 & 2
- Your child must be at least 3 years old to take Creative Movement.
- If your child is 5 or 6, he/she may enroll in Pre-Ballet levels.
- At these these levels, the ability to listen and follow directions is a factor.
Level 1-6 Classes / Placement
- Age provides a general guideline for class placement.
- Students at age 10 and older will be evaluated to determine their class level.
- Students should expect to spend at least one year (two 16-week semesters) at a level, and may spend two years or more at a particular level before advancing on to the next.

How To Register
- Review the schedule and find the class that is age appropriate for your child.
- Select a day to bring your child to take a Placement Class.
- This Placement Class is a trial class to ensure your child will be correctly placed, and allows you to see the school.
- This initial class is $20.00. After the class, the instructor will discuss the most appropriate level for your child, and you may then sign up for the semester.
- Find your child’s level on the left. Click on ‘Register’ for the class you desire.
Fees
- Classes are offered by the semester only, and class cannot be taken individually or on an occasional basis.
- Price varies depending on the level, and number of classes taken per week. The average cost is $17 per hour.
- We offer Fall and Spring semesters and a Summer Intensive Program.
- If there is more than one dancer in your family, there is a reduced rate for the second registration. Class size will vary depending on the level but the average size is 15.
- If your child misses a class, a make-up class is allowed provided that it’s taken within the semester. There are no carry-overs to the next session.
Parent Access to Class
- Parents must accompany their child to the Placement Class.
- In general, parents are not allowed into the studios so as not to distract the child but may visit a class with special permission from the teacher.
- Please note for young children (under 7 years old), parents are expected to accompany their child to the classroom, and wait in the lounge area until class is finished. From experience we appreciate that both parents and children will understand and benefit from this wise and common sense policy.
Dress Code is Mandatory:
- Students are required to conform to the dress code.
- The correct uniform should be worn for each lesson with hair neatly tied back in a bun or pony tail.
- Ballet items can be purchased from our in-house store for Creative Movement and Pre Ballet.
- A list of retailers for upper levels can be found on the FAQs page.
- Students who are not dressed properly for class may be asked to sit out a portion of class as a reminder that we take the dress code seriously.
- Please review the dress code for your child’s level.
Classroom Etiquette
- Parents: If the door to any dance studio is closed during class, we ask that you do not open it - even to peek in - as this causes a huge distraction for the students. We also request that you refrain from stopping teachers to chat before and after classes. Please understand that their schedules are extremely tight and your questions will make them late to their next class. If you need to speak to an instructor about your child, please email Ashley or Justine to arrange a convenient time
Adult Class
- Whether you are a professional dancer or a beginner, there is a ballet class to fit your needs. Please review our Adult Class page for further details.
