The MDSB Summer Intensive Program is designed to rapidly advance the serious student in technique and performance ability. Class sizes are small and students receive individual attention and/or coaching at all levels. The program is open to students of the school from ages 7 to 18 years old. Applicants who are not students of the school are asked to take a placement class. (Please call the school for details.)
The program offers classes in those dance forms most essential to students preparing for a professional career in ballet. The program runs for six weeks and culminates in an Open Class Showing. Students may take less than the full six weeks, but must attend at least the last four weeks if they wish to dance in the Open Class Showing.
Kirov Academy Summer Session
Auditions for the Kirov Academy Summer Session in Washington, D.C. were held at Dance Arts Academy on January 19, 2008. After the auditions several of our students were invited to attend this summers program. The program is designed for serious students of ballet ages 10 through 18, and consists of four to six hour classes, six days a week. There are two sessions: Technique Intensive: June 15 - July 5, and Performance Intensive: July 6 - July 27. For more information visit their website:
